Recently, three reputable online publications compared and tested six 2012 compact SUV's to determine which one was the best buy. Honda has finally released details of the new cloud-based in-vehicle connectivity system known as HondaLink, which will debut on the 2013 Honda Accord. The automaker partnered with Harman to utilize the Aha app to stream cloud-based digital content into the HondaLink system. This enables the driver to personalize the content channels on their smartphone before getting in the vehicle.
HondaLink will give drivers access to podcasts, Facebook and Twitter feeds, music through Slacker, and listings from Yelp through an audio-based interface that is controled through voice recognition, steering-wheel mounted controls and in-dash audio system controls. The brand new electric vehicle from Honda, the 2013 Honda Fit EV, has officially entered the market. Based on the current Honda Fit design, the completely electric Fit was recently named the most fuel efficient vehicle in the U.S. with an EPA estimated rating of 118 eMPG.
As far as style and design goes, the new Fit EV looks almost identical to the Honda Fit we know and love, but has gained some aerodynamic advantages. The new fascia diverts air more effectively, which allows the Fit EV to have less drag, and also brings more air into the engine, keeping the electric motor cool.

What is a timing belt?
The timing belt is what allows the crankshaft to drive the camshaft, which opens and closes the valves, and without it, the engine can’t run.
When and why do I need to replace it?
Changing the belt at the recommended interval is crucial to your Honda’s maintenance. A Honda, model year 1997 and later, needs to have its timing belt replaced every 105k miles (not 60k miles like many other cars). The 2013 Honda Fit EV was recently named by the EPA as the most efficient car thanks to the 118 mile per gallon equivalent rating it received. Even though the new electric Fit doesn’t use any gas, the EPA was still able to give it a ranking of MPGe. According to the EPA's rating, the Honda Fit EV can travel 82 miles before needing to be recharged.
With competitors from other manufacturers, the Fit EV, looking like a refreshed version of the 2012 Honda Fit, just entered the efficiency category market and took the title of most efficient vehicle. This is no small feat, as fuel economy is a top priority for car buyers.
Honda credits the vehicle’s lightweight design, aerodynamics and “savvy powertrain” for helping it top the competition. While being rolled out on a limited basis this summer, the Honda Fit EV will get a full-scale release in early 2013.

Honda used to opportunity at the 2012 NY Auto Show to announce that the 2013 model lineup will offer rear-view camera as a standard feature.
“At Honda, we feel that this visibility feature will be important to many families and we’re widely applying it even before we may be required to do so. In addition to the wide application of the rear-view camera technology, Honda is also introducing several new features for enhanced driver safety, visibility and security in model-year 2013,” stated Vicki Poponi, American Honda’s Assistant VP of Product Planning.

Similar to previous shootouts, the 2012 Honda Fit was evaluated by a panel of expert auto journalists and a real-world family, Erik & Robyn; Rose - a young married couple, along side six other subcompact cars.
Not every small car in the market made the cut. In order to qualify for the shootout, the car had to seat four, have four doors, an automatic transmission, an EPA rating of 35mpg or more, and a sticker price of less than $16,000. The shootout took the judges on a three-day test through a 200-mile loop in Southern California that combined city with highway driving. At the end, the judges rated each vehicle and attached a score that evaluated the static features (things like looks, comfort, usability, etc.), driving, overall value, and gas mileage.

It pays to be organized when you walk into Howdy. Use the internet to get offers from other markets (Waco, San Antonio, etc.). Use the internet services to value your trade-in and still expect them to give you a low offer. If you are organized with the prices you want, have offers from other dealers, and are willing to drive an hour north or south to a competitive dealer, you will get a decent price on your car at Howdy. Hey, they aren't in business to give cars away, so I respect their efforts. I just found the sales people in other markets were more competitive."

Digital giant, Google, has been chosen by Honda to participate in Honda's Electric Vehicle Demonstration Program. Google received a fleet of the new 2013 Honda Fit EV to test and use as part of their in-house car-sharing program. This vehicle isn’t available to the general public yet, but Google employees can already drive around in the new Fit EV and give Honda feedback before it’s released later this year.
Honda also dropped off a fleet at Stanford University and at the city of Torrance, California. However, the faculty and students at Stanford University will be doing something completely different with the Fit EV from what the city of Torrance and Google are doing. Stanford's faculty and students will focus on “study(ing) the psychological and physical reactions of using battery-electric vehicles and how these reactions differ when driving a traditional gasoline-powered vehicle.”

The 2012 Honda Fit retained its throne in the top position as the Best Value Small Car and Best New-Car Overall Value. Honda welcomes the New 2012 Year with a big comeback! The company is set to release an updated Honda Civic (after the 2012 design wasn't well received), as well as both a brand-new 2013 Honda CR-V crossover and also a 2013 Honda Accord. Expect a fairly early release in 2012 for all of these models except for the 2013 Accord which is set for a little later release.
American Honda Motor's CEO, Tetsuo Iwamura, foresees that 70 percent of 2012's total sales will consist of 2013 models. Iwamura is also confident that Honda’s big three will also dominate the market including; the Civic, Accord and CR-V.
Besides the re-designed vehicles, Honda also has a few other tricks up their sleeve. They plan on introducing six new engines and also three new continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), debuting with the 2013 Accord.

Honda Motor Company recently announced details about their new next-generation technology named “Earth Dreams Technology.” This break-through was designed to support their goal of being leader in fuel-efficiency in three years for every vehicle category.
The revolutionary “Earth Dreams Technology” is a series of technological advancements that increase driving performance and fuel efficiency. The advanced environmental technology that Honda will be using as a base will increase the efficiency of internal combustion systems, transmission and electric-powered motor technology.

The 2012 Honda Odyssey received outstanding crash test scores via government testing and it's here at Howdy Honda in Austin TX. In both front and side crash testing the Odyssey received a five out of five stars and an overall 5-Star rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, IIHS, also recently named the 2012 Honda Odyssey a “Top Safety Pick” for 2012, which the Odyssey also received in 2011. A few standard safety features include anti-lock brakes paired with brake assist, stability/traction control and also side curtain airbags for all three rows.
